Rollover Crash Kills Two – Rhode Island

A serious rollover crash occurred in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, leaving two people dead and two others injured.  The rollover crash occurred when a truck carrying four people hit a pole and was eventually snapped into two pieces by rescue workers.  Multiple rescue crews responded to the serious rollover accident.

Two of the passengers were ejected and two of the other passengers were trapped inside. Two sets of the Jaws of Life were used, one from East Greenwich and the other one from Coventry.

Three out of town rescue teams were called to the scene of the crash from Coventry while two others were called from West Warwick.  Police confirmed that two people died in the crash from their injuries.

Police officers with the East Greenwich Police Department took friends of the victims who were at the scene of the rollover crash to the police station to give their statements about the accident.

A Life Star helicopter had no choice but to land in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in Coventry in order to transport the two surviving victims to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Police have said speed played a factor in the crash; however they have not released anymore details due to their on-going investigation into the rollover crash.
