Continental Tire Recalls 400K Tires

(NewsCore) – Continental Tire announced Friday that it was voluntarily recalling 390,657 light truck tires in the US over fears they might experience uneven wear, vibration or separation between the belt edges, which could cause a crash.

The Fort Mill, S.C.-based company said that separation of the tires’ belt edges could lead to tread belt separation, which increases the risk of a crash occurring.

Continental added that most of the affected tires were installed on Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks from model years 2008 and 2009.

Approximately 60,000 of the 390,657 tires were sold in tire-replacement markets, it said.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted, and the tires will be replaced free of charge.
