Chevrolet Pickup Truck Rollover
Fernandez, 25, was a passenger in a vehicle driving on a highway when the vehicle hit an area of high water. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and rolled down an embankment. Fernandez suffered fatal head injuries. His medical expenses before his death were about $3,000. Formerly an air conditioning installer earning $27,000 annually, he is survived by his wife and minor daughter.
Rob Ammons was asked to represent the Fernandez family. On behalf of Fernandez's wife and their daughter, Ammons sued the construction company that was performing work along the roadway. Suit alleged that during heavy rains, water flowed from the median under the traffic barrier and across the lanes of traffic, carrying sand and dirt which polished the pavement and made it slippery. Plaintiffs alleged the construction company knew of the dangerous condition and failed to correct it or warn drivers about it. Ammons' investigation revealed that nineteen (19) other vehicle accidents had allegedly taken place at the same location and during the same 24-hour period.

Following this disclosure of Ammons' investigation, Ammons obtained a confidential settlement for his clients.
